Watch Me Disappear

On July 23, 2010, in Personal Articles, by Jim Camut

Once every few years I get to go on a vacation. I’m leaving to go to Cape Cod tomorrow morning and I’m flippin’ stoked. The picture above is the beach I will be going to. That’s Longnook Beach near the tip of Cape Cod. My family used to go there when I was younger, so it’s got a lot of sentimental value. It was actually about 10 years ago the last time we went there, and we had to leave a few days early because my grandfather took a turn for the worse in his final days.

So it’s needless to say that I will be disappearing for a week. This time I will be going with my girlfriend, Amanda; my sister, Alex; and her boyfriend, Nathan. We are all staying at the same motor inn my family used to stay in.

We will be doing nothing short of laying on the beach, running from sunburn, swimming in the refreshingly cold waters of Cape Cod, eating fresh seafood, and trying to not stand out in the off-normal artsy town of Provincetown.

Peace out daily routine.

I’ll be experiancing my vacation crash caused by the contrast of recent “living the life” memories clashing with the reality of the normal daily grind on Monday August 2nd. I’ll put up a photo album when I get back.
