A Secret Game in iOS7

I’m a User Interface (UI) designer/developer and an athlete. In a past life, not too long ago, I raced bicycles at a professional level, competing in Europe and across North America with some of the world’s fastest cyclists.

So the whole world (roughly 50%) of smartphone owners squealed yesterday when Apple mandated gently released the latest itteration of it’s mobile softwate, #iOS7. The upgrade features a slew of flat UI design, some obvious upgrades to existing features and a whole lot of eye candy. Of course the “if-it-ain’t-broke-don’t-fix-it” crowd, hate it, but they’re also still complaining that smartphones don’t have the same feel as their jacked-to-the-wall rotary.

If you’re an i-device owner you might have noticed what’s probably the coolest feature of iOS7 – a new game.

To open this secret game you have to swipe the secret “slide to unlock.” You’re then presented with a whole bunch of numbers – like so many, I can hardly cout – and then you have to start pushing them to win. When you win, you get to use your phone.

I’m seriously addicted to this game! The only problem is that I can’t get past the first level. I’ll report to you wall when I win. Until then, happy iOS7-ing sports!
