Once upon a time, not too long ago, I was getting really excited about finishing my book. I decided to write a manuscript about what it was like to chase a bike racing dream across the world, and the things you learn during the pursuit. The momentum was building, the story was coming together, the finish looked near…

Then I paused.

I paused for a really long time. The truth is, you need really large blocks of time and energy to finish a book. I started working two jobs, and my window to work on my book got smaller and smaller. I’m still determined to finish my book, but it’s going to take more time and patience.

In the intermediary phase I also outlined another book. I set it aside thinking I would write my second book when my first book was all finished. However, during that time I also realized the two outlines can mesh together really well. So now my book has a different angle. I’m working on this book bit by bit, and it’s going to be a joy to put in front of a publisher when it’s all said and done.
